Has anyone tried the Pagano Diet?  There are so many claims, I just wonder if it really is a cure.  Does anyone have any first hand experience.  Wouldn't doctors be prescribing this as a cure?

Its very interesting and, really, doesnt seem that tough. Of course, its easy to say that. But, its not like it has some outrageous thinking behind it, its pretty basic. I do know that the ideas of the guy it was based on - Cayce - (i forgethis first name) is believed to be , by some, sort of a snake oil salesman.

But who knows.

I do believe diet can help. Ive noticed that when Ive been sick and dont eat for even just two or three days and have only liquids, that my psoriasis feels much better.

I've done the Pagano diet, twice. Found it definitely worked first time, psoriasis (guttate and plaque) cleared up within about 2-3 months I think. The second time though it did not work as completely as the first time, probably because I didn't stick to it as strictly, it's a hard diet to do in winter in the UK as it doesn't provide that much 'energy/fuel' food and I was cold all the time.
beasely, I've noticed the same about not eating, if I go through a period of time where I'm not consuming much it does seem to get better.

I have also done the Pagano diet. It works but it is very hard to live by. Maybe if I won the lottery I could spend that much time preparing each perfect meal. I too found myslef getting cold all the time. I'm in sales and was always embarassed to shake someones hand because my hands were always so cold. I went from 215 lbs to 165 lbs. Big difference but not at all bad. My nails cleared and all. but once you break the diet and break out again, going back to it is extremely hard to do and I do find results much slower the second time around. It's like this disease has a vengence against anything that works. Maybe someone with more will power could do it. I have to say thought that I recomend it. He clearly put allot of effort into it. I agree with about 70% of his recomendations and there are plenty of good before and after photos to support his theories.

For anybody that's interested, I interviewed Dr. Pagano in 2005. He talks a lot about his diet, it's origins, his history with "conventional medicine," etc. Here's the URL:

I did the Pagano diet and found it works great, however, I really did not have the time to cook all those meals (that weren't very good anyways) so I worked hard at creating a diet that I can fit into my busy life. You can read about this on my website (not selling anything) and see how I beat Psoriasis with nothing but diet. www.howtobeatpsoriasis.com hope this helps in some way. Charles

When you dress, do you go out of your way to hide your psoriasis?
Always, because everyone stares.
I don't have to. It is only in hidden areas.
It depends on who I'm with and where I am.
No. I've learned to live with it.
No. It never mattered to me that much.
